The Courier took out the top prize for Best Advertisement (Imaging/Branding) in this year’s Country Press SA awards.
Judges praised the tidy layout of the ad for Mt Barker Steel, saying the images showed the range and quality of the business’ work, premises and staff.
They also said the support text offered discount incentives and highlighted Mt Barker Steel’s local standing for 20 years.
The Courier managing director Norman Marston said the award was testament to the newspaper’s commitment to successfully delivering results for Hills business.
“The Courier is still the best way to get your message out into the local community,” he said.
“Our staff work very hard with their clients to understand and communicate their advertising needs.”
The Courier journalist Genevieve Cooper was runner-up in the Excellence in Journalism award. Sandra Morello from The Border Watch won the journalism prize and her Mt Gambier based newspaper also won the Best Newspaper award in the circulation over 6000 category.
