Freeway cameras

More than 30 cameras will help detect incidents on the freeway between Crafers and Stirling under the new managed motorways project.

A $14m safety upgrade of the freeway between Crafers and Stirling is expected to be complete in coming weeks after a third lane was opened late last year.
The long-awaited managed motorways project, which was co-funded by the State and Federal governments, added a third lane between the Crafers and Stirling interchanges to improve traffic flow, as well as an intelligent transport system which includes 32 cameras to help detect and respond to traffic incidents.
