Vexxed vax rollout

Sue Horsnell, chief executive of Mt Barker based disability service provider HCO, has said the service has taken steps to vaccinate its clients alone because Commonwealth Government support was taking too long.

Service providers supporting people with a disability have stepped up to get them vaccinated against Covid-19 as the Commonwealth Government’s vaccine providers are yet to visit many disability care facilities.
People with a disability living in a residential facility were eligible under the first phase of the vaccine rollout – which began in February – but a local support provider has “taken the initiative” to protect its clients after waiting too long for communication from the Government, according to the service’s chief executive.
