Funds for fast car chargers

Electric vehicles will likely make up half of all new car sales in SA within 10 years and Adelaide Hills Business Centre chief executive Gordon Kay has registered his interest in upgrading an existing public charging station to support the growing demand.

With several manufacturers phasing out internal combustion powered cars by the end of this decade, the State Government is addressing the lack of public electric vehicle chargers with $13.4m in funding.
A network of more than 500 fast charging stations will be installed through the funding, including at a number of Hills locations, to help reduce ‘range anxiety’ for electric vehicle owners and encourage them to travel further afield.
