Discussions between the Mt Barker Football Club, Hills Football League (HFL), Summit Sport and Recreation Park (SSRP) board and Mt Barker Council have begun with the aim of fixing a range of issues at the new $23m venue.
The football club raised concerns regarding the size of the clubrooms, small combined kitchen and canteen, no bar, the lack of perimeter fencing, no coaches’ boxes and player benches, insufficient public toilets, stormwater drainage, car parks and an “unreadable” football scoreboard.
