Bandicoot mum back home after fire

At least two bandicoots, including a male and a female with babies have returned to the Cherry Gardens fire scar.

A bandicoot mother carrying three joeys has returned to a burnt area near Scott Creek just months after the Cherry Gardens fire in what a local wildlife researcher believes is a promising sign of recovery.
Adelaide University wildlife ecologist Jasmin Packer said the bandicoot was found at a survey area along Scott Creek last month in a first since January’s fire.
