Environmentalist warns of extinction threat

Dr John Wamsley has spent at least half of his life advocating for the reversal of eroding biodiversity in Australia, saying we are on track for all vertebrate species in the country being threatened or extinct by 2070.

A local environmental activist, landcare expert and qualified mathematician has warned that all of Australia’s land vertebrates could be threatened or extinct by 2070.
Dr John Wamsley, who has spent most of his life trying to raise awareness about the increasing degradation of biodiversity across Australia and the catastrophic implications for life across the country, made the claim, based on his own calculations, after receiving a Medal of the Order of Australia earlier this year.
