Endangered native orchids make a return

Council biodiversity officer Tonia Brown, left, Seed Conservation Centre senior seed collection officer Dan Duval, and council horticultural team member Sarah Gordon are part of a project to return endangered leafy greenhood orchids to the Lobethal Bushland Park after the Cudlee Creek fire.

Endangered native orchids are being re-introduced into the Lobethal Bushland Park after they were wiped out of the area during the Cudlee Creek fire.
More than 100 leafy greenhood orchids, propagated from seeds collected before the fire, have already been planted in the park with hundreds more expected to be translocated over the next few years.
