Plea to stop land sale

Hills residents want to stop the sale of a parcel of land near the freight rail line in Bridgewater, saying it would be an ideal location for a Park ‘n’ Ride.

Hills residents are protesting the sale of a “critical” piece of Government land in Bridgewater they believe should be converted into a Park ‘n’ Ride to help solve the region’s traffic woes.
More than 7000sqm of vacant land adjacent to the railway line behind the Bridgewater Shopping Centre is under offer after it was put on the market by the Department of Infrastructure and Transport (DIT) in May because it was declared surplus to needs.
