A new law governing the safety of all-terrain vehicles (ATVs) or quad bikes came into effect last Monday in an effort to reduce the number of deaths in the agricultural sector.
The safety mandate required all ATVs be fitted with an operator protection device (OPD) such as a roll-bar or roll-cage to prevent the driver being crushed in the event of a rollover.
