Popular event returns to Stirling

The 11th season of Stirling Laneways will kick off next month, bringing with it the bursts of color, markets and music that have become synonymous with one of the Hills’ best-known Sunday outings.

Event manager Anya McNicol-Windram “couldn’t be more excited” about what the 2024/25 Laneways season will bring.

“We can’t wait to enliven the streets of Stirling with this beloved event,” she said.

“The days are getting longer and warmer, flowers and blossoms are bursting open and we’re all feeling ready to get amongst it.”

Held in tandem with Stirling’s fourth-Sunday market days, Laneways’ season launch event will be held on September 22, activating the town’s collection of alleys, paths and community spaces with a wide array of retail offerings, including handmade and vintage goods and seasonal fruit and vegetables.

In addition to the smorgasbord of stalls, stores, restaurants, cafes, entertainers and visual delights of a Hills village basking in the vibrant colors of spring, the first Laneways of the season will also strum a special tune in the form of an event partnership.

“We’re collaborating with the Adelaide Guitar Festival as part of their ‘Guitars in Bars (and other places)’ program,” Ms McNicol-Windram said.

“Locals and visitors can enjoy the energy and vibrance of a curated line-up of SA’s best original singer-songwriters and guitarists.”

As a Hills resident, Ms McNicol-Windram said Stirling Laneways inspired her, turning the town into an even more joyful place.

“I love the way events (like this) can transform our perspective, turning a place we live and shop in every day into something magical and transportive,” she said.

“It’s always so delightful to see people meandering, exploring and experiencing Stirling in this way.

“We look forward to bringing this immersive, joyous experience of discovery to locals and visitors alike.”

Stirling Laneways is an initiative of the Stirling Business Association.
