The Courier’s advertising team has won a State-wide award for an advert promoting a Hills business.
The advert, for the Crafers Pizza Bar, was named the best advertisement for a priced product at the SA Country Press Awards on Friday.
Judge Mark Clemow said the advertisement had a “clear and bright layout that works in the simplest way by making the price the hero”.
“The name and location of the business and the price of the offer are bold and unmissable and the layout carries the same branding as the website and store,” he said.
The Courier’s advertising manager Jon James said the award was a fantastic result for The Courier and the client.
“Our advertising team works with the client to achieve a result that gets them results,” he said.
The Country Press awards recognise excellence among SA’s regional newspapers.
The Courier’s editor Elisa Rose also placed second in the Excellence in Journalism category for her coverage of Hills ambulance issues, while The Courier’s sports photographer Danny Cazzolato placed second in the Best Sports Photo category.
The Courier also placed second in the Best Headline, Best Ad Feature, Best News Photo and Road Safety Reporting categories and third in the Best Front Page and Best Community Profile categories. Managing Director Norm Marston said he was thrilled with the newspaper’s success.
“The advertising award demonstrates our team’s commitment to excellence and to providing our clients with a quality product that boosts their visibility in our community,” he said.
“To also achieve so many second and third placings among a field of outstanding local newspapers demonstrates our high standard of local news and sports reporting.”
