Anzac Spirit: Anzac Day in pictures

As the sun rose over the Hills on Tuesday, thousands of people gathered at their town’s memorial gardens, sports ovals or churches to pay their respects to those who served Australia during all conflicts and wars.

On April 25 each year since 1916, Australians have observed Anzac Day with a Dawn Service, usually held at 6am at a public venue, followed by a traditional “gunfire” breakfast.
