The popular Amy Gillett Pathway will be extended to Birdwood after years of negotiations between the Adelaide Hills Council and the State Government.
The $5.7m project will extend the path from Mt Torrens to Birdwood, adding about 6km to the route.
The path will be built by the council, which will contribute $500,000.
The State and Federal governments will each contribute $2.6m.
