Mt Barker residents would be forced to keep their cats confined to their properties 24/7, under a proposed change to the council’s by-laws.
At Monday’s meeting Mt Barker councillors agreed to seek the community’s input on the proposed change, which would come into effect on June 30 next year.
Cats born after January 1, 2025, would need to be confined from the time of their birth.
