The Mt Barker Council has banned fishing in Byethorne Park at Nairne, following a community survey which found a majority of respondents supported a ban.
Mt Barker councillors agreed to change the council’s by-laws to prohibit fishing at the park at a meeting earlier this month, with a report on the outcome of the ban to be presented to the council in the next 12 months.
