Pam Whitford says she has been living a lie for almost 41 years.
That lie, she claims, is that her husband Geoff Whitford took his own life at a rocky cove on Myponga Beach in October 1981.
Mr Whitford, who was in charge of a covert police taskforce which targeted high level drug trafficking, was found shot dead on the beach.
