Strong southerly winds, dry weather and complacency are being blamed for a series of fires across the Hills last week at Mt Barker, Mylor and Mt Torrens.
At about 3.20pm on February 12 – a Total Fire Ban day – a man was working on his property at Warmington Run, Mt Torrens, with a power tool when it sparked and ignited dry grass.
