An enlarged spillway that was part of a $90m dam upgrade in the Hills has been put to the test for the first time.
The $94m upgrade of Kangaroo Creek’s dam involved a significant widening of the spillway and raising the embankment to increase the dam’s flood capacity, while making the dam wall stronger to enhance its ability to deal with earthquakes.
