Wilderness retreat for Cleland

The team behind Mt Lofty House has unveiled plans for a $10m wilderness retreat at Cleland Wildlife Park.
Up to 19 one-bedroom private villas and a restaurant and function centre are central to the venture, which is expected to open in 2023 and draw a “new level” of interest to the region.
The project is the latest Hills venture by Mt Lofty Properties which is behind Mt Lofty House and the new luxury lodge Sequoia.
Mt Lofty Properties owner David Horbelt said the planned retreat would offer guests an “unparalleled journey of discovery” focused on the region’s nature including Cleland Wildlife Park’s koala conservation efforts.
“The creation of a boutique retreat will bring a new level of international and interstate interest and visitation to the region,” he said.
